After our brief stop in romantic Monschau, we crossed the North Eifel to Bad Neuenahr-Ahrweiler. There we stayed in the vacation rental of our friend Imgard. Together we enjoyed the Christmas Market and again the next day when our friend Cora came to visit!
After a few days in the Düsseldorf area, we drove to the Hochtaunus region north of Frankfurt. We picked a rural spot to stay and explore that was close enough to Bad Nauheim (where Thorsten lives) and Frankfurt for Markus and Paddy.
What have we been up to the past month? We really needed a break before our actual vacation to Crete in September, so we went back to Ahrweiler for a weekend. That was great! Warm weather and it all looked much nicer in the summer 🙂 It was a pity … » full post and pics!
