That nasty thunderstorm passed us by and all we got (thankfully) was rain. We used the morning well by sleeping in and we were glad it cleared up just in time for the only Clear Lake boat cruise during week on the Martese. We did this the previous time we were here as well, loved it.
September 18th – Clear Lake boat cruise on the Martese
It was still pretty windy, so we didn’t go on the big portion of the lake. They took us to Deep Bay instead and along the shoreline for a bit. Although it was still cloudy, it was nice to be on the water. It cleared up later in the day.
September 19th – Last day of vitamin L
Taking in a last day of vitamin L(ake)! Last breakfast at the Whitehouse Bakery and souvenir shopping at the Spinning Wheel. When we went fishing at the pier (well, Nico), we saw a fisher!!!! Meaning, the animal from the weasel family, no pun intended We had been warned for them in the campground (they could grab a cat), but hadn’t seen any.
We also switched to a more populated area of the campground, as we had been all alone since Tuesday and I felt less at ease each night. This spot is much better! Tomorrow we leave the park and will spend the weekend with our friends Anneke and Dries who live near Angusville, not far from here.
