The day before yesterday we went to look at the Kennedy March, a hiking event here in this province. 80 km.. wow! Our neighbours-from-across-the-street the Brouwers are always involved in this, as Rob has finished this yearly event for 13 years in a row and in the past years his daughters Elke and Lea and some friends joined him on (parts of) the route. Vera and some friends (a.o. François) followed them in their cars to provide support. We met up with them near Thorn, where Rob had just quit after 52 km. First time he didn’t make it, but he knew that year would come eventually and he was not as fit as years ago. Elke did 40 km and when we got there 3 friends were still walking. 1 of them was way ahead and we didn’t see him, Logan quit after 70 km and Daniel (Lea’s bf) was the last one for us. Lea joined him for the last 20 km (quite an achievement too with a bursitis!) and they finished at 10 pm!!! Great achievement! But I already find 5 km quite a hike, so much respect from me for all of them! We went home quickly and had a drink at Rob and Vera’s. Nice day with nice weather.

Yesterday we were up fairly late and had an Easter brunch instead of an Easter breakfast. With some extras, no diet today. Later in the afternoon we went to Brunssum to see Engulfed, a band with our friend Mo, and Nico promised to take pictures. Afterwards we decided to have dinner at the Mexican restaurant there, and it was amazing! Much better than the one here in Heerlen and a very good atmosphere: www.elcomal.nl . Of course the scales this morning showed that one of the 2 kilos I had lost last week is back 😉
