Friday September 3rd, Westbank – Nakusp

After they made us breakfast, we said goodbye to John and Diana. We had such a great time with them!!

Marlies on the ferry by NeedlesWe took the 97 to Kelowna and Vernon, passing several lakes, the biggest being the very impressive Kalamalka Lake with its turquoise colour! We didn’t expect it, but the Okanagan left a big impression on us! In Vernon we took the 6 to the east, through broad valleys as well as narrow, winding roads through the mountains. We had lunch at the Gold Pan Café and about an hour and a half later we got to Needles on the Arrow Nakusp sunsetLakes. There was only a short line up to the ferry and we only had to wait 15 mins (the crossing was fast too, about 10 mins). The 6 continued north along the lake and was mostly very easy, it didn’t take us long to get to Nakusp. We checked in on the small municipal campground by the park and relaxed for a while, the cats were already enjoying the many small tree squirrels that came to dare them making lots of noise 😉 After we made some supper we walked to town to see the beach and lake at dusk and explore the main street a bit. Back in the RV we found an open network that we used to quickly update this 🙂
