Hello! We are Nico and Marlies Wobben!

On The Prairie And Beyond is mostly about our life in Regina, Saskatchewan on the Canadian Prairie, where we live with our five wonderful kitties and go camping a lot with our motorhome. We also love traveling back to the old country (Netherlands) and other places!

Nico is an RN and I (Marlies) have a web design and crafts business Feel The Fire and write on this blog. Until 2019 I combined this with a parttime office job.

We've known each other since the 80s from heavy metal concerts, mostly in Eindhoven, where I am from. We didn't get together until 1993, married in 1996, lived in Heerlen until we moved to Canada in 2008.

We are home! We love the people, the space, nature, the wildlife... our prairie life!
