Moved!<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Yes, it all went well and we moved<\/strong> as planned on the 12th! The floor is nice and shining again, but unfortunately the screening technique couldn’t remove the worn down spot nor remove the thick layer of lacquer in the bedrooms. They colored the bedrooms a bit to mask the flaws, but it’s obvious that at some point we’ll have to have the floor properly sanded. But for now we’re happy as it is a time saving solution for now and the floors are all sealed and protected again.<\/p>\n

The next morning we moved in, Ken helped again by driving his truck, Tim and Nico did most of the heavy lifting. In the afternoon we ran some errands and picked up Spooky, who had disappeared during our move. In the evening the furniture we ordered at Continental was delivered. Since then (2 weeks), I’ve still been painting and cleaning, there is still some furniture to assemble and we just started unpacking a few boxes. So the house is still a warzone, but it’s awesome to live here! Here’s a few pictures to give you a first impression of the changes!<\/p>\n

A daytrip to Regina Beach<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>Last Sunday we went out for the day, packed sandwiches and cans of pop and ice-tea, and went to Regina Beach<\/strong>. This is a cute little town along the shore of the south end of Last Mountain Lake, about 40 km NW of Regina. The lake is 70 km long and 2 km on its widest point. Regina Beach turns into a little resort in the summer, with a beach, shaded lawns and benches, a marina, shops etc. A nice spot to relax every now and then and feel like being on vacation!<\/p>\n

Sunset over Wascana Lake<\/strong><\/p>\n

\"\"<\/a>And the third album I just uploaded is one of last Wednesday. We are so happy that we live close to Regina’s biggest beauty, the huge Wascana Centre<\/strong> (around 9 km2), featuring the Wascana Lake and lots of parks and overlooks around it. We are only about 1 km away from it (800m in flight) and this night we biked there, went to the Goose Island overlook and then biked around the lake a bit more to Broad St. The pictures are unsharp and grainy, because they are just from my automatic pocket camera, we should do it again with Nico’s SLR. Then I will also dress a bit better (hot or not) to protect myself from all the mosquitoes! We saw pelicans on the water and rabbits or hare in the park, and of course some of those beautiful skies this province is renowned for \ud83d\ude42<\/p>\n
