They are easy to read, but still exciting and page turners to me. I love the towns they are situated in, esp. Pajaro Bay. This year I had 3 new books to read in both the Pajaro Bay and the Carita Cove series.

Jean M Auel

Then I wanted to read one book of the Earth’s Children series about Ayla, who grew up in the Clan of the Cavebear and went to search for her own kind of people. I struggled a bit with this second book, esp. all the corny adult scenes after she gets together with Jondalar. But I decided to continue and when they end up living with the Mammoth Hunters in book 3, the rich descriptions of how they lived there captivated me. I just kept reading until I finished the whole series, all six books! The last books were not nearly as good anymore, but I finished the series for the first time. It was a re-read (in English this time) of book 1-4, 5 and 6 were new to me.

I was done just around the end of the year. In the beginning of 2022 I picked up a few new-to-me writers, read some more Barbara Cool Lee and finally continued with my Shannara saga! I just finished book 2 and am starting in book 3. But that’s for next year’s book post! 🙂
Reading now: TERRY BROOKS – The Wishsong of Shannara.

2021

JEAN M AUEL – The Valley of Horses, The Mammoth Hunters, The Plains Of Passage, The Shelters Of Stone, The Land Of Painted Caves (Earth’s Children series 2-6, ebook)

BARBARA COOL LEE – Maggie and the Rattled Rake (Carita Cove mysteries 8, ebook)

BARBARA COOL LEE – Sunshine Cottage, Riverstone Cottage (Pajaro Bay series 7-8, ebook)

Here’s my annual list of read books, the books I read in 2021.
