High time for another update, it’s been already two weeks since Wacken Open Air! It was pretty cool, or no, I should say it was HOT. There was no way of keeping the beers cool and water tasted the best anyway…. luckily the new 1 liter beer glasses could be filled with soft drinks as well

I did just edit and upload all the fun pics I collected from Cora, Silkie, Katalin, Brian, Nele and Micheline and our own camera.
In the first days after Wacken it was still too hot and I really felt awful, I was still tired and couldn’t stand the heat anymore! Luckily it cooled down a bit later in the week. Unfortunately Nico got ill, he got a cold at Wacken somehow and even had to stay at home from work. I hardly ever catch colds from him, but this time I was too vulnerable….. last weekend I fell ill too!! It’s Friday now and I’ve been home from work all week!! And I’ve had trouble sleeping this whole week, which wasn’t exactly helpful. First thing that happened was a fire in the neighbour’s shed in the middle of the night. That was Monday to Tuesday. Nico had to stay up late (luckily!!) to prepare for night shift and around 2.30am he smelled smoke and found out it came from that shed in the back of our neighbour’s yard. The fire department was there within 5 minutes and so was our neighbour, who Nico also called. Then he told Nico in tears what was going on….. he needed some more money to finish renovating his house and had a little illegal weed plantation there to make some extra euros! Holy cow, how can he be so stupid??? I mean, I don’t even care about the plants, I don’t find that such a big crime (even though we don’t support any of that) but those set-ups are a fire hazard always!! And he thought it was all well done and safe. Well, he’s been proven wrong! What if Nico hadn’t detected it? I was home alone for the next couple of nights, I’m scared to think what could’ve happened if it would’ve started a night later??!! So the rest of the week I didn’t sleep well either 😥 Oh well, I stayed home all week from work, but now it’s getting better, just tired still, but I’ll go back to work next Monday. Back to normal life.
Sunday we’ll be having friends over for a BBQ and then on Monday……. it’s only TWO WEEKS UNTIL CANADA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Oooooooooh right, I also set up a page on a very cool travel diaries site, where you can easily stay in touch with everyone online, since you can add text, photos (50), people can react, add their address to a mailing list – so it’s perfect for when we are “on the road”! Afterwards we’ll use the text and reactions in our extensive story with LOTS of pics that we’ll be putting up on our homepage! (edit 2007: it has all been transferred into this weblog now)
