Wow, that was an amazing start of the trip in Roblin! What a little gem that East Goose Lake was. We continued the drive east, to Dauphin, and then we turned south towards the park. Towards forests and hills!

September 14th – entering Riding Mountain National Park

We stopped at Moon Lake and enjoyed the lake front there. The lake trail was closed because of bear activity. We spoke with a couple who came back from kayaking, and they had been too close to the shore and were charged by a mama bear! Apparently they were unknowingly getting close to her cub, who was playing in the reeds. We continued our beautiful drive through the park and arrived at the Wasagaming campground #116.

September 15th-16th – Exploring Wasagaming

The next morning, we went for breakfast at the famous Whitehouse Bakery and walked around Wasagaming. The beach, the pier, the shops, the park, all those cabins – it was all so gorgeous. Why did it take us seven years to come back to this beautiful place?? It’s nice to be so close to town that you can walk everywhere. We did bring our bicycles too, though.

Back on the campground, we chilled for a bit, while looking around for bears as there apparently are many and it’s not very busy. Nico went fishing from the pier in town and we cooked the trout from Roblin for supper. Then we went indoors at dusk as we are chicken and you guessed it, afraid of bears haha!

Today a bit of the same, a walk to town and just hanging at the campsite.
